     Lectio Divina

1. Lectio

- Reading a passage of Scripture (read 3 or 4 times)

- The passage in its original context (commentaries are helpful here)

- Faith dimension (intentions of the writers, human and Divine, of the passage)

 

2. Meditatio

- Relevance of the passage for today

- One's respond as a believing member of the Catholic Church

 

3. Oratio

-Spontaneous prayer arising from the meditation of the passage

-Praises to God and Petitions

 

4. Contemplatio

-Silent Meditation on the scriptural passage and one's reflection/s on it (A meditation song is recommended)
